Veermata Jijabai Technological Institute (VJTI), Mumbai, established in 1887, is one of India’s premier and oldest engineering institutes. It is an autonomous institute of the Government of Maharashtra and is affiliated with Mumbai University. Located in Matunga, Mumbai, VJTI has a sprawling 16-acre campus.

- Interview Documents: Bring your updated resume, original and photocopies of educational and experience certificates, and two passport-sized coloured photographs on the day of the interview.
- Reporting Time: All candidates are required to report to the Maintenance Section between 10:00 AM and 11:00 AM on the day of the interview.
Note: Candidates who fail to produce the required documents will not be permitted to participate in the interview. Written tests will be conducted for the positions of Civil Engineer, Electrical Engineer, and Sanitary Inspector, while practical tests will be held for the roles of Plumber, Electrician, Carpenter, and Helpers.

Eligibility Criteria, Roles & Responsibilities

Civil Engineer (5 positions)
- Age Limit: 50 years
- Duties and Responsibilities:
– Coordinate, plan, and execute institute and hostel building projects.
– Supervise sites, take measurements, estimate, and check the quality of various civil works.
– Prepare tender documents, BOQ, and manage tender processes on GEM/MAHA-e-TENDER.
– Write measurements in the measurement book and prepare bills.
– Other tasks as assigned by Dean I & M/Associate Deans/Faculty In-charge/VJTI authorities.
- Eligibility:
– Degree/Diploma in Civil Engineering with a minimum of 3 years’ experience.
– Preference for experience in tendering, executing repair works, and liaising with statutory bodies.
– Salary: 55,000 Rs (Degree Holders), 45,000 Rs (Diploma Holders)
2. Electrical Engineer (1 position)
- Age Limit: 50 years
- Duties and Responsibilities:
– Coordinate, plan, and execute electrical projects.
– Supervise sites, take measurements, estimate, and check the quality of electrical works.
– Prepare tender documents, BOQ, and manage tender processes on GEM/MAHA-e-TENDER.
– Other tasks as assigned by Dean I & M/Associate Deans/Faculty In-charge/VJTI authorities.
- Eligibility:
– Degree/Diploma in Electrical Engineering with a minimum of 3 years’ experience.

3. Sanitary Inspector (1 position)
- Age Limit: 50 years
- Duties and Responsibilities:
– Inspect infrastructure for cleanliness and hygiene.
– Ensure proper disposal of waste and pest control.
– Liaise with local bodies for maintenance and waste disposal.
– Other tasks as assigned by Dean I & M/Associate Deans/Faculty In-charge/VJTI authorities.
- Eligibility:
– Degree in any discipline with 5 years’ experience.
– Diploma in Sanitary Inspection.
- Salary: 50,000 Rs
4. Plumber (2 positions)
- Age Limit: 50 years
- Duties and Responsibilities:
– Perform plumbing work and attend to repairs.
– Maintain water coolers, purifiers, and pumps.
– Other tasks as assigned by Dean I & M/Associate Deans/Faculty In-charge/VJTI authorities.
- Eligibility:
– ITI or PWD license in plumbing with 1-year experience or equivalent experience.
- Salary: 30,000 Rs
5. Electrician (2 positions)
- Age Limit: 50 years
- Duties and Responsibilities:
– Perform electrical maintenance and repairs.
– Install and maintain electrical systems.
– Other tasks as assigned by Dean I & M/Associate Deans/Faculty In-charge/VJTI authorities.
- Eligibility:
– ITI or PWD license in electrical work with 1-year experience or equivalent experience.
- Salary: 30,000 Rs
6. Carpenter (2 positions)
- Age Limit: 50 years
- Duties and Responsibilities:
– Perform carpentry work and repairs.
– Maintain furniture and fixtures.
– Other tasks as assigned by Dean I & M/Associate Deans/Faculty In-charge/VJTI authorities.
- Eligibility:
– ITI or PWD license in carpentry with 1-year experience or equivalent experience.
- Salary: 30,000 Rs
7. Assistant Plumber, Electrician, and Carpenter (each 2 positions )
- Age Limit: 50 years
- Duties and Responsibilities:
– Assist in plumbing, electrical, and carpentry tasks.
– Perform maintenance and repair work.
– Other tasks as assigned by Dean I & M/Associate Deans/Faculty In-charge/VJTI authorities.
- Eligibility:
– Relevant experience in the respective field.
- Salary: 20,000 Rs
